The line count for this month: maximum of 48 

DECEMBER DETAILS FOR S.A.M:

THEME: This month your story must have a theme of: Envy 

The word count for this month: minimum 1000 words - maximum 1500 words

DECEMBER DETAILS FOR P.A.M: 

THEME: This month your poem must have a theme of: Envy 

The line count for this month: maximum of 42

Start Date: December 1st, 2008

Finish Date: November 30th, 2009

Prizes (apply to both PAM and SAM): 

1st place: £75.00 & publication

2nd place: £50.00 & publication

3rd place: £25.00 & publication

On the first of each month, starting on December 1, there will be a “Theme” posted on the website and posted in the Secret Attic Community. Entrants will be e-mailed the “Theme”. This is the theme to base your story on for that month. Each month the word count will vary, so make sure you read the details of S.A.M each month.

Entrants have the whole month to submit their entry. Entries must be e-mailed to secretatticmail@gmail.com by midnight on the last day of each month.

You must title your e-mail: S.A.M

Your entry must be sent as an attachment; MS.doc file, .rtf file

Your name must be included in the e-mail (not on the manuscript) along with the relevant month and title of your entry. No identifying marks must appear in the MS. 

For example, in the body of your e-mail, with your entry attached, type:

Rules: 

  • Miss a month and you are disqualified
  • Exceed the word count by more than 50 words, and you are disqualified.
  • Omit a title and you are disqualified
  • Reminder: In the body of your email, state the following three things:
  • Your name
  • Your SAM entrant Number
  • The month of the entry you are submitting for
  • The title of your entry
  •  All entries must be English
  • All entries must be original
  • All entries must be previously unpublished
